12 Surprising Things Holding Back Online Video Advertising
"After four years in the online video business, one thing is clear: if you produce high quality content and build sufficient distribution across a large enough number of consumer touch points, you can generate more than enough revenue from multiple sources and platforms to build a profitable, stand-alone business. But no one said it would be quick or easy. Building distribution isn't obvious and most producers fail to build any meaningful reach, but if you can hatch an editorial direction and business strategy that can attract an audience, over time you will be able to create a real business around it."

EASTENDERS spin-off 'going well'
EastEnders' executive producer has said he hopes to make more episodes of online spin-off EastEnders: E20. Diederick Santer said the series had a "different feel" to its parent show, and was going "well" so far. He told This Morning: "It's going really well, it started last week, episode five is on tonight - we're hoping to do more, and it's just a different angle of Walford and it features a different set of characters for young audiences. It's written by 13 17-year-olds, it's like Eastenders but it's not, it's got a different feel...it's like a parallel universe show."

DAYS star Alison Sweeney to guest on MERCY
Sweeney will play a bus-crash victim who appears (at first) to have only minor injuries when she guests on NBC's freshman medical drama, MERCY.

INTERVIEW: Y&R's Eric Braeden (Victor)
"I think Y&R’s future is contingent upon the ratings. Obviously none of the soaps are kept alive for the sake of loyalty. It’s all about ratings. It’s show business. Period."

Before the World Stops Turning: An early farewell from Julianne Crouch
“As the world turns, we know the bleakness of winter, the promise of spring, the fullness of summer and the harvest of autumn – the cycle of life is complete. What is true of the world, nature, is also true of man – he too has his cycle.” Irna Phillips, who said that about the community of Oakdale which she created, must have also known something about the cycle of the public’s taste.
