DAYS and Art Van Furniture Deliver Truckloads of Donations to Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries-Genesis House III
Monday, January 18 will be marked as a day to remember at the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries Genesis House III. Due to the outstanding partnership between Art Van Furniture, the daytime drama DAYS OF OUR LIVES and local NBC affiliate WDIV Channel 4, trucks arrived with barrels of toiletries as well as 50 mattress sets, bed frames, night stands and dressers compliments of Art Van Furniture.

"We are overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness extended by Art Van Furniture, DAYS OF OUR LIVES, and the caring citizens of Metro Detroit. The beautiful dressers, nightstands and beds donated not only have brightened up the shelter rooms, but more importantly the hearts of the women and children staying there," said Marci Fitch from Detroit Rescue Mission. "It truly gives them hope to know so many care about them."

EASTENDERS stars remember Wendy Richard
EASTENDERS stars have turned back the clock to recreate the old-fashioned atmosphere of the 1970s sitcom ARE YOU BEING SERVED? in memory of the late television favourite Wendy Richard. Wendy found fame as the glamorous Miss Shirley Brahms in the popular show before moving on to become Albert Square's Pauline Fowler. Walford actors June Brown, Natalie Cassidy, James Alexandrou and Ricky Groves took to the shop floor at London store Selfridges for a charity sale of Wendy's collection of clothes.

INTERVIEW: B&B's Kimberly Matula (Hope)
She's got some really interesting storylines that are going to happen and I think that she's going to learn a lot about herself. She's still a gullible young girl, she's still in high school, so I think she's going to grow up and learn how the world really works.

Neil Patrick Harris may guest on GLEE
Harris wants to do the May sweeps episode helmed by Joss Wheden, and GLEE creator Ryan Murphy wants him to — he’s creating a role especially for the HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER star (and Terri Colombino's prom date). The gig not only would reunite Harris with Whedon, it’d also reteam him with Zachary Woodlee, who choreographed the musical number in HIMYM’s recent 100th episode.

The project is from BBC Worldwide Prods., with original series creator Russell Davies writing the script.

Baby girl for Seganti and Chang
Paolo Seganti (Dominic, GOTHAM; Damian, ATWT) and his wife Carlotta Chang (ex-Azure C., THE CITY) welcomed the newest addition to their family on December 20. Daughter Lucia (which means "light") was born at 12:13 a.m.

Web series producers discuss shows at Strike.TV screening
ANYONE BUT ME creators Susan Miller and Tina Cesa Ward said that their show is currently funded thanks largely to a private investor, but if they can’t find a sponsor for its third season, they might have to make the show subscription-only — even after switching to a new distribution deal with Blip.tv.

  1. Is life imitating art? Paolo Seganti named his daughter Lucia (which means "light") Damian and Lily name their son Luciano which means "light."

  2. Lucia doesn't really mean "light" and neither does Luciano.
    Luce is "light".

  3. Torchwood is a little nugget of British perfection...along with Doctor Who. It doesn't need an American re-do, reboot, sequel or spinoff. It doesn't need to move to America. It needs to be left alone.

  4. I was excited at first when I read that Russel T Davies (and hopefully John Barrowman) were going to do a USA version of Torchwood - hoping it would be on USA Network or SyFy. But reading that it was coming to FOX, with its history of butchering sci-fi (Terminator, Dollhouse, Firefly) made me wish Davies would keep it over the pond.
