Eileen Fulton: "It's a Hell of a Christmas Present"

Eileen Fulton, the legendary star of AS THE WORLD TURNS, summed up today's cancellation of the soap pretty well for the Associated Press.

"It's a hell of a Christmas present," said actress Eileen Fulton, who will mark 50 years playing the character Lisa Grimaldi on the show. Her character has been through nine marriages and Fulton was hoping for a 10th before the signoff.

"I'm just very sad," she said. "I'm sad for all of the people who work out there in Brooklyn (where the show is filmed). We're a family. I hate to be split up. It's like a divorce."

  1. I agree. I don't understand why they didn't wait until after the first of the year, since the sign-off isn't until 9/2010.
They must want to announce Pyramid soon!

  2. Wait, I know it's very off-topic right now, but nine marriages??
Lisa Miller (her maiden name) Hughes Eldridge Shea Colman McColl Mitchell Grimaldi Chedwyn. Did I forget one? Or could they not even respect ATWT enough to get things right when they're cancelled?

  3. Bram, I'll have to think about that more. I can only think of those eight too off the top of my head. She almost married John and some others but I don't think she did.
