Anna Stuart Joins The Cast of GOTHAM

We Love Soaps is happen to break the news that the amazing Anna Stuart is the latest top-notch talent to join the cast of indie soap GOTHAM. Stuart will be playing the role of Richard Manning's (Michael Park) mother.

Stuart began her daytime soap career on THE DOCTORS where she played Toni Terra Powers for six years. She went on to play Gina Dante on GENERAL HOSPITAL and subbed for fellow GOTHAM star Maeve Kinkead on GUIDING LIGHT before landing her signature role, as Donna Love, on ANOTHER WORLD. Her very first words on ANOTHER WORLD on January 13, 1983, were "Peter, what a surprise." What wasn't surprising was the unforgettable run Stuart would go on as Donna. She took Emmy winners Ellen Wheeler and Anne Heche under her wing and brought out the best in Emmy nominee Jensen Buchanan as well. They all played her daughters on the soap and she made each transition work flawlessly. Donna married and dated many men over the years, but it was her romance with Michael Hudson (Kale Browne) that was most memorable.

Following the cancellation of ANOTHER WORLD, Stuart brought her character over to AS THE WORLD TURNS as Donna dealt with her daughter's death and later her grandchildren in 17 episodes over three years. Throughout this decade Stuart also played the role of Mary Smythe on ALL MY CHILDREN on and off, and subbed for Linda Dano in the role of Rae Cummings on ONE LIFE TO LIVE.

The consummate pro, Anna Stuart not only will add depth, humor and talent to an already star-studded cast, but grace and class as well.

In other GOTHAM casting news, Paolo Seganti's character was heard but not seen in the first episode. That character now has a name, Dominic Siliceo. Look for more on Dominic soon.

  1. Wow! Awesome! Spectacular! Watched Another World back in the day and always loved her. Enjoyed her stints on ATWT as well. GOTHAM just seems to keep getting better and better. I can't stop re-watching episode 2. That ending with the song and the look on Martha's face in slow-mo...love it.
