News Round-up: Croasdell, Dattilo, Coon, Bjorlin, Hale

Becki Newton's brother to play Mark's love interest on UGLY BETTY
Matt Newton (Becki Newton’s real-life bro) will debut in the upcoming Bahamas episode as Mark’s new boyfriend. Originally slated for one episode, his stint has been expanded and he’ll now appear in roughly four episodes.

Hale and Harding cast in PRETTY LITTLE LIARS
Troian Bellisario and Ian Harding have joined Lucy Hale in the network's drama pilot PRETTY LITTLE LIARS. LIARS, based on Alloy Entertainment's series of novels, revolves around teenagers Aria (Hale), Emily, Spencer (Bellisario) and Hanna, who begin to receive mysterious messages, seemingly from their girlfriend who disappeared three years before.

EASTENDERS actor is new video game James Bond
According to UK Press Association, EastEnders actor Adam Croasdell has been chosen to be the new James Bond for Activision's upcoming video game. He plays Doctor Al Jenkins in the hugely popular BBC soap opera.

Speaking to BBC Asian Network he said: "Oddly enough I have just played James Bond in the new James Bond video game - how weird is that? I don't know what the future holds, but I'm always into varying up what comes my way, trying new things."

Greenwood man gets small part on ATWT
Michael Coon portrays the official who congratulates the winner of an auto race that was filmed at a Greenville-area racetrack in October on today's AS THE WORLD TURNS.

“Hundreds of us showed up for the casting call,” Coon said. “That was not counting the hundreds of others who were simply there as fans of the show, many of whom who were used as extras as the crowd in the race scenes.”

"They just decided to give my character a little break, and hopefully it won't last that long. They just called me and said, 'We're going to give you a couple months off, and you won't be working that much. We're gonna put you in rehab, and when you come out, we got this really great storyline for you.' I said, 'Ok, great,' but I haven't heard anything about it yet or any hints, so hopefully they won't forget because once you're out of that place, you're out of the loop."

DAYS actors visit Detroit for talent competition
A handful of stars from DAYS OF OUR LIVES are in Detroit to do some charity work, make appearances and conduct a talent search that will earn someone a role on the long-running daytime soap. Nadia Bjorlin, Bryan Dattilo and others visited a Veterans Administration hospital Wednesday. On Thursday they plan to work at a food bank and decorate floats for the city's Thanksgiving Day parade.

On Friday and Saturday, they'll help judge a competition that will result in an aspiring actor winning a spot on DAYS. In addition, a lucky fan will have the chance to win a flight to L.A. for a set visit.

Jay Kenneth Johnson will make an appearance during the 53rd Annual Telethon of Stars Saturday and Sunday at the Luther F. Carson Four Rivers Center in downtown Paducah, Ky.
