We Love Soaps Radio: Episode #17


On Episode #17 of “We Love Soaps Radio,” Roger Newcomb and Damon L. Jacobs discuss the latest hot topics from the world of soaps. The show also features interviews with legendary soap writer Claire Labine, former DAYS OF OUR LIVES actor Wesley Eure, AS THE WORLD TURNS star Colleen Zenk Pinter and REALITY BYTES producers Tristan Rogers and Kate Lang.

  1. Folks all over the net are salivating over the full Labine interview/transcript. What an impressive set of "gets" you've had.

    I should add that the Jackie Zeman pieces were amazing. She was so gracious.

    There is a vague irony. When Bobbie was added, the shows vets at the time (Audrey, Steve, Jessie) were ushered to the back burner. Indeed, I recall Audrey once asking Steve if "life was passing them by" (He replied that they should be happy that the drama was past them).

    So it is ironic in some sense that the young 'uns who ushered the vets off the stage in the past are now being ushered off themselves.

    I guess Gloria Monty kind of started that trend in daytime. Even though the soaps may no longer be inter-generational, apparently the practice of ageism is.

  2. Thanks for the feedback, Mark. I really like the variety and quality of this week's guests. This is how I pictured the show being when we first started. We have some good stuff coming up too. :)
