DE LACROIX: The Daytime Emmys: Happy At Last
"From out of a dying soap industry, from out of a network I never watch, last night arrived the most unexpected shock of my decades-long soap watching/journalism life: a Daytime Emmys that was pretty good. Who know that after most of us gave up the fight and moved on to other lives that daytime would finally get what we (the actors, the press, and hopefully the fans) had fought for forever: a Daytime Emmys that wasn’t condescending to daytime soaps!"
Think you have what it takes to be a soap star? AS THE WORLD TURNS and KDKA-TV want to cast you to be on the show! The open casting call will take place at The Mall at Robinson on Thursday, September 17th from 11am until 3pm!
At least 10 lucky people will be selected to appear in an episode that will be taped right here in Pittsburgh. The taping, which will occur between October 1, 2009 and November 15, 2009, will last 1 or 2 days.
"That's the big question, but none of us know if she's going to come back or not," Simpson-Wentz told MTV News about the new show, which premieres Tuesday. "I mean, of course everyone would love for her to come back, but we don't know. [It's] up in the air."
Former Laker Rick Fox cast on MELROSE PLACE
