Nicola Stapleton joins HOLLYOAKS
Former EASTENDERS actress Nicola Stapleton is joining HOLLYOAKS LATER. The star - who played conniving Mandy in the BBC One soap between 1992 and 1994 - will appear in the new run of the late-night spin-off in September.
Men do watch the CW, network boss insists
“I think that we have a lot of things to offer men over 35, and I think that there are a lot of men who watch GOSSIP GIRL and ONE TREE HILL and SMALLVILLE and SUPERNATURAL and even TOP MODEL,” Dawn Ostroff told TV critics Tuesday. “And maybe they don’t always admit it, but you’d be surprised how many 35-year-old men come over to me and say, ‘I love your network.’”
Jordan Woolley only lasting two episodes of BEAUTIFUL LIFE
That former AS THE WORLD TURNS star will be off the show by the end of the second episode.
Primetime Emmys nix conflicts of interest in voting
At the same meeting where the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences finalized its "time-shifted" approach to present certain awards, the board of governors amended its conflict-of-interest rules to prevent full-time employees from voting in any category in which their networks are nominated.
Rachel Melvin: Four months later...
"I had my fitting for my Emmy dress today, which I am very excited to hop into come awards ceremony time. It's absolutely gorgeous! It's designed by Randolph Duke, a very talented individual, who's work I can't wait to show off on August 30th! So far, everything pertaining to the Emmys is going smoothy, I'll even be lucky enough to take a break from filming to return to LA for the evening. (Hopefully to witness a few wins on the DOOL front)."
Wagner and Locklear at the Wolf Dean
Heather Locklear was spotted at Mohegan Sun's Wolf Den on Friday where she was catching a performance by beau and former MELROSE PLACE co-star Jack Wagner (now Nick, B&B).
Rapper Dizzee loves EASTENDERS
Dizzee Rascal has spoken of his love for EASTENDERS, appealing for a chance to appear on the soap opera. The rapper says he is considering a future in acting and loves to keep up-to-date with events in Albert Square.
"EASTENDERS means a lot to me, because I'm from the East End. I watch whenever I can fit it in. It's best when I hear my music in the show's cafe, that gives me a buzz. I've thought about acting a couple of times. It is something I want to break into soon. It would be a natural progression," he explained.
What seems odd about The Beautiful Life is the lack of coverage of "High School Musical" star Corbin Bleu's presence on the cast. I'm surprised that the marketing campaign hasn't made more of his being part of the cast to go after his fan base.
