News Round-up: Geary, Dodgers, Heteroflexible, DH

GH's Tony Geary isn't ready to give up on soaps
“There are so many new ways to view the shows now and—who knows?—maybe there’s some sort of reinvention right around the corner, something that will reignite the ratings,” he says. “I’m just not prepared to say it’s all over for the soaps. I may be coming to the end of my own tenure, but I suspect the medium will survive me.”

DH brides Susan and Katherine unveil their wedding dresses... but which of them marries Mike?
It was the cliffhanger ending to the last season of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES - who was getting married? Season 5 concluded with shots of Mike Delaney saying his vows with a mystery woman. After months of debate by message boards and blogs, the mystery continued as two brides unveiled their dresses on set yesterday.

Is “Heteroflexible” the New Gay?
“You can please some of the people some of the time, but never all of the people all the time,” says Y&R's Michael Muhney (Adam). “This character to me is groundbreaking and incredibly interesting. For me, I don't like putting people in neat little boxes that you can check off: You're black. You're white. You're gay. You're straight. You're a woman. You're a man. I think people like their own unique identities, that they're not defined by a single word in Webster's.”

Dodgers to host Hollywood Stars Celebrity Softball Game this Saturday
Participating stars scheduled to appear in the game include Rob Lowe (BROTHERS & SISTERS), Mario Lopez (THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL), Dave Annable (BROTHERS & SISTERS), Jessica Lowndes (90210), James Denton (DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES), Aimee Teegarden (FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS) and Kate Linder (THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS).

Raul A. Reyes: My life as a GUIDING LIGHT extra
"While my performing ambitions waxed and waned over the years, I somehow managed to hang onto my little job at the soap opera factory. I wasn't the only one, either. There was Lynn, the waitress at Company restaurant; Alvin, the cop at the police station; and Darlene, the nurse and my fellow employee at Cedars Hospital. We're just a few of the regular-but-not-always-recognizable denizens of the fictional town of Springfield."
