News Round-up: Farah Fath, Tonya Lee Williams, Pyfrom

INTERVIEW: OLTL's Farah Fath (Gigi)
On the Stacy Morasco storyline: "I haven’t gone on record yet to state how much I loathed that storyline. This is not news to [head writer] Ron [Carlivati] and [executive producer] Frank [Valentini]. They saw right through me! They knew I was fed up. The most frustrating was that Rex and Gigi were so blatantly stupid. I knew the viewers would have the same reaction. I have enough experience to know what makes a good soap story, and this wasn’t it. You can’t piss off soap fans. Maybe for a few episodes, fine, but not for half of the entire year. There was nothing rootable about this storyline. It’s been the hardest storyline of my career."

What's Wrong With ISIDINGO (And Who's To Blame?)
Jared Orlin wonders:"How is it that a once top-rated soap with an uber-talented cast is so well...there's no other way to say this...boring!

Y&R's Tonya Lee Williams (Olivia) joins THE BORDER
Williams will play a senior U.S. Department of Homeland Security agent, and Park her lieutenant in the Canadian drama about elite Canadian immigration and customs officers working with U.S. authorities to defend the Canadian-U.S. border against outside threats.

DEGRASSI's Aubrey Graham (ex-Jimmy) joins US AND THEM
Graham, also known as the recording artist "Drake," and fellow actor Mazin Eisadig are to co-star as best buddies -- and polar opposites – trying to make their way in the entertainment industry.

Shawn Pyfrom leaving DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES
Shawn Pyfrom, 22, who plays DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES' Andrew Van De Kamp, the troubled son of Marcia Cross’s character, won’t be coming back full-time.

“Shawn’s not returning for a full season next fall,” a source tells People. “But he’ll come back and make a few guest star appearances.”

The source says it was a tough call for the actor to make. “His decision didn’t come easy,” the source says, “but he wants to pursue new television and film opportunities.”

David Andrew Macdonald returns to GL
Macdonald will be back on the soap on August 7th.

Anthony Herrera back on ATWT
Herrera's first airdate will be August 10th.
