Sophistication, savvy and beauty synthesize on the eve of Sunday, August 30, 2009. The sophistication and the savvy will be engendered by Lorena Sarbu. It was only natural and a matter of time before the paths of O’Brien and Sarbu crossed; O’Brien’s consistent mix of classic with fashion-forward paved her the way to Sarbu’s uncanny ability to show a respect for the past and utilize the fabrics and colors of today. Sarbu envisions and realizes this fusion to perfection. And Hollywood is taking note. Although Sarbu’s line, available to the public, will not officially launch until 2010, she has been designing individual dresses for actresses and socialites on a couture basis. And her client list, her status in demand, is growing with young Hollywood’s up-and-comers and all-ready-theres.
The dress Sarbu designed for O’Brien’s inaugural nomination is nothing short of stunning. Made of Italian silk chiffon, the gown is amber-effected-blue that beautifully dances from a soft turquoise blue to lilac and lavender. The true beauty lies in not only the dress and its exquisite construction, but the vintage jewel encrusted earrings that are used to create the one-of-a-kind belt. Airy and light, the gown is reminiscent of something only Grace Kelly would adorn. As the canvas to Sarbu’s latest couture design, O’Brien is sure to be the talk of the 36th Annual Emmy ceremonies.
Lorena Sarbu’s exquisite boutique is located at 433 N. Bedford Drive in Beverly Hills. She also has a second location in the historic Third Ward in Milwaukee. For more information, visit www.lorenasarbu.com.
