It's the end of another week and I can't help but think of all of the wonderful romances that daytime has featured. From Steve and Alice (ANOTHER WORLD) and Doug and Julie (DAYS OF OUR LIVES), to Greg and Jenny (ALL MY CHILDREN) and Luke and Laura (GENERAL HOSPITAL), romance has defined daytime.
But right now, I can't help but think of Steve and Kayla and the epic romance they shared. Fans mourned when Stephen Nichols left his iconic role of Steve "Patch" Johnson and Kayla was forced to move on without him. In fact, Kayla was so filled with grief and depression she imagined she became involved with her brother-in-law, Shane Donovan. It was a dream. That is my story and I am sticking to it!
When Stephen Nichols and Mary Beth Evans returned to DAYS OF OUR LIVES, it seemed as though Steve and Kayla would finally get their happy ending. Although Steve and Kayla are together, unfortunately their romance wasn't given the respect it deserved the second time around.
