Douglass Watson: Died 20 Years Ago Today

One of my all-time favorite soap actors, Douglass Watson, died on this day back in 1989. He was 68. He played Mackenzie Cory on ANOTHER WORLD for 16 years before his sudden death just before AW's 25th anniversary. He won two Daytime Emmys for the role. Prior to his legendary role on AW, he had roles on LOVE OF LIFE and SEARCH FOR TOMORROW. Here are a couple of videos in honor of Watson - the first is from his powerful scene during Rachel's trial for Mitch's murder and the second is Victoria Wyndham's tribute to him at the Emmys in 1989.

  1. Both those clips left me balling my eyes out.

Douglass was great. Definitely deserved both of his Emmys.
