Today was the annual AS THE WORLD TURNS Fan Club Luncheon in New York City. Doors opened at 10:30 this morning and fans were let inside to purchases photos, raffle tickets and JAVA shirts (requested by "Nuke" fans).
Fans were seated around Noon and lunch was served. The raffles started shortly after followed by cast introductions. Trent Dawson and Terri Colombino introduced the cast who were all warmly received. The largest ovation came when Van Hansis and Jake Silbermann were introduced.
Colleen Zenk Pinter was not able to attend but Dawson read a letter she had written thanking fans for their support and urging everyone to get an oral cancer screening. Eileen Fulton grabbed the microphone and said she was expecting ATWT to continue ten more years and beyond. Wole Parks asked fans to sign up for AIDS Walk New York on May 17.
Much of the cast was in attendance including a very pregnant Maura West, Paolo Seganti, Kathryn Hays and Don Hastings.
The cast then moved to tables where they met fans, signed autographs and had their pictures taken. My strategy was to go to the shorter lines first and then wait in the longest line, for Hansis and Silbermann, at the end. It seemed to work well as I was able to speak with most of the actors.
I'll be posting pictures on Sunday so check back then to see the luncheon fashion but I will say that Julie Pinson looking smoking hot with her new hair style and color, and the sexy Chauntee Schuler looked better than ever.
I'm taking a short break, enjoying room service, then will be heading to Nuke-a-Palooza later this evening.
