OLTL documentary debuting at film festival March 26
ONE LIFE TO LIVE Films in Seaside Heights is one of two films created by the Seaside Heights Office of Public Relations that will debut in the New York Independent International Film and Video Festival on March 26th, 2009, 4:20 p.m., at the Village East Cinema 181 2nd Avenue at 12th Street, New York.

The ONE LIFE TO LIVE documentary was filmed by Peter Smith in April 2008, when OLTL filmed on location in Seaside Heights. The location shots were the daytime drama's pivotal May sweeps storyline, introducing an envelope-pushing teen pregnancy involving popular characters Starr and Cole, which played out until late in the year.

Y&R script writer interested in film?
David Dunn, grandson of Ora Utz, has put his life’s adventures in an e-book “From Kansas To Hollywood.” It recalls his beginnings in radio in Pratt to his work at KAKE TV in Wichita through his life in Hollywood working with a vast array of famous stars. Dunn also wrote a movie script version of the book and is looking for someone to back the film. Some of the movie would be shot in Pratt if the film were made, Dunn said.

“It only takes one person to think it’s a great idea,” Dunn said.

A script writer for THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, Janice Ferri, wants to get into movies and is interested in his movie, Dunn said.

"My approach is I’m happy for the work and at the end of each season I just assume it’s over and get on with my life. If the show winds up being picked up and I’m included, it’s like I got a pleasant surprise!"

TRUE BLOOD production in progress
Episode five is being shot now, and 12 episodes are planned to start airing in either late June or early July. There are a few new exciting actors on the show, including Valerie Cruz, Anna Camp (CASHMERE MAFIA) and Ashley Jones (THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL). They join the previously confirmed Michelle Forbes (GUIDING LIGHT), Mehcad Brooks and Deborah Ann Woll.

  1. One interesting thing about the piece about David Dunn's e-book is that it calls Janice Ferri (Esser) Y&R's "head writer" and not, as you corrected it, a Y&R script writer. I wonder if that was Dunn's error or the reporter's.
