HOLLYOAKS star issues warning to admirers
HOLLYOAKS star Jennifer Metcalfe has admitted that she is tired of being chatted up when she visits nightclubs. The 25-year-old actress, who plays Mercedes McQueen on the Channel 4 soap, is currently single - but has insisted that she will not welcome "cheesy" pick-up lines.

"The simple answer is don't," Metcalfe is quoted by the News Of The World as saying. "If I like someone, I'll go up to them - but don't ever interrupt me on the dancefloor!"

EASTENDERS' Jack Branning voted top UK soap hunk
According to an online poll for MSN Entertainment, Scott Maslen – who plays Jack the lad – is the soap hunk who gets most women in a lather.

In second place comes Ricky Whittle who plays Calvin Valentine in HOLLYOAKS, third is Chris Fountain (Justin Burton, HOLLYOAKS), fourth is Ryan Thomas (CORRIE’s Jason Grimshaw) and coming in at fifth is Gary Lucy (Will Fletcher in THE BILL).

Richard tribute show leads BBC viewing figures
The BBC's tribute program to actress Wendy Richard, who died earlier this week, pulled in more than five million viewers according to statistics. The former EASTENDERS star, who passed away aged 65 on Thursday, was the subject of a hastily-arranged show screened between 20:00 and 20:30 GMT that evening.

BROTHERS & SISTERS Movie Event: Who's Gonna Die?
Anyone who's spent any time watching ABC this week has seen the promos for Sunday's two-hour BROTHERS & SISTERS movie event. Hallmark Channel adds GOLDEN GIRLS to lineup with marathon today
Hallmark Channel goes golden on Sunday. The family friendly network will welcome four south Florida seniors, THE GOLDEN GIRLS, to its lineup with a marathon on March 1. Hallmark will run 18 hours of the sitcom classic, starring Beatrice Arthur, Rue McClanahan (Peggy, SORDID LIVES; ex-Caroline, ANOTHER WORLD), Betty White (Ann, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL) and Estelle Getty, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 a.m. The show will then settle into its regular lineup positions on the service: beginning March 2, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., and midnight to 2 a.m.; beginning March 7, Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and starting March 8, Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

DEGRASSI tackles Asperger syndrome
DEGRASSI: THE NEXT GENERATION has dealt with a variety of frank topics over its nearly 8-year run, including AIDS, alcohol abuse, depression, drugs, homophobia, rape and teen pregnancy. With the U.S. premiere of its latest episode on Friday, the Canadian teen drama expanded its range by revealing one of its younger characters suffered from Asperger syndrome and examining his struggle to function in an unsympathetic environment.
