DAYS: A fatal fall at a pier
Philip and Tony battle it out Friday on DAYS OF OUR LIVES and Tony won't live to tell about it. Philip orders Tony to return the plans for the lucrative fuels project so he can get his job back at Titan.
"It happens on the docks, where nothing good ever happens," says Jay Kenneth Johnson, who plays Philip Kiriakis. "Philip is willing to do anything to get back the respect of his father. To do that, he needs to scare Tony a little bit. He doesn't go there to kill him. However, bad things do happen on daytime."
Like long-term character Tony DiMera biting the dust.
"They have words and start parting ways. As Tony is walking up the steps of the pier, he turns around and the railing gives out. Tony falls 8 feet onto a perfectly placed stake of wood, much to Philip's horror and surprise."
INTERVIEW: DAYS' Darin Brooks (Max)
"I define [Max] as the lost boy trying to find his reason, his love, and who he is. He was abandoned, so he's always going to go out of his way to make someone else feel they are not. He's a hero, but has been hurt to the extent where he might be dangerous."
Gay group’s media strategy has paid big dividends, even with daytime soap operas
Megan Basham of WORLD Magazine writes: "While same-sex weddings on television are hardly new (a lesbian ceremony featured heavily in a FRIENDS episode from 1996, for example), the real-life drama surrounding legal challenges to California's recently passed constitutional amendment against homosexual marriages has made the milestone all the more significant. By tying the episode to Proposition 8, those associated with ALL MY CHILDREN have reaffirmed the perception that the entertainment industry is of a single mind on the issue."
