News Round-up: Ramirez, Barton, Rambin, Anderson

GREY'S ANATOMY star Sara Ramírez dismisses rumors, talks romance
"I received a letter of disappointment from a Callie fan who said she will no longer be watching the show because Callie went down that road, and that made me sad. But in my family, my aunts are Catholic, and they watch it and are so supportive! I’m not one to tell people what to think, but I would like to encourage people to open their hearts because it’s 2009, and we’ve elected an African-American President. Come on guys, let’s get over it."

HOME AND AWAY actress speaks out on lesbian role
HOME AND AWAY actress Esther Anderson has spoken out about her controversial storyline. In an interview with Australian newspaper The Herald Sun, Anderson - whose alter ego Charlie Buckton gets involved in a lesbian relationship in the sun-kissed soap - revealed how kissing another girl "wasn't a big deal".

She added: "You learn pretty much everything at school. I don't think it's like I'm lifting the lid on something they don't already know about. To me there's no difference - love's love. The fact that your partner's the same sex is no different. You just want to be loved."

Mischa Barton joins CW's BEAUTIFUL LIFE
ALL MY CHILDREN alumna Mischa Barton has been tapped to star in CW's drama pilot A BEAUTIFU LIFE. The project, from CBS Par, revolves around a group of models living together in a co-ed residence in New York. Barton will play Sonja, a supermodel and veteran of the high-fashion circuit who is struggling to keep on top and is in danger of slipping.

This casting means Barton won't be playing a role on the new MELROSE PLACE as previously rumored.

Leven Rambin says goodbye to SARAH CONNOR
"Dearest SCC viewers/fans/haters, it’s yours truly, Leven Rambin. Just wanted to stop by the blog to thank all of you for your support of me and Riley (even you naysayers!). You all inspired me more than you know so thank you for yours efforts. I had such an amazing time shooting (no pun intended) the fight scene with Jesse. Even though I could simply crush Stephanie with a single swipe of my husky hand, we managed to carry on a sufficiently entertaining duel. And I’m really dead for all you doubters."

Michael Fairman on "BuzzWorthy Radio"
