Colleen Zenk Pinter On Her Way Back

Back in 2007, AS THE WORLD TURNS star Colleen Zenk Pinter revealed that she had been battling with Stage 2 oral cancer. She originally thought she had a canker sore and then began treatment for a viral/fungal infection for a month. She had multiple surgeries. The first removed the bottom half of the left side of her tongue which was later reconstructed with tissue from the other side. In a follow up surgery, doctors in serted radioactive beads in her tongue (commonly used to treat those with prostate cancer).

Toward the end of last year she was diagnosed with a metastasis that was treated with more surgery and radiant. Fans have noticed that Barbara has been pretty absent of late, although she did make a brilliant appearance in the show's Valentine's Day special.

I have not reported on this new development until now. She is scheduled to be back on set on March 20 so I thought it was time.
