In a new interview with Jim Halterman at AfterEllen.com, GUIDING LIGHT stars Crystal Chappell (Olivia) and Jessica Leccia (Natalia) discuss their current storyline.
On fan reaction to the Olivia and Natalia relationship:
CC: There are those who don’t believe that my character would ever even think about a woman and based on her history, I understand that. But there are others that are very supportive of her exploring what it is she does feel for this other woman.
JL: I think the general consensus is that people are responding to the way the writers have let people in on the ins and outs of the development of this relationship between Nat and Olivia. Their appreciation of each other although begrudgingly at first, is what some fans really like to see.
On the 'shipper name "Otalia" and the fans:
CC: I love the shipper name Otalia. I love all the discussion on all the websites including AfterEllen.com. I check them all out. It’s been exciting to see new fans come aboard and hear from all these new fans and how much they love the story and the relationship. I’m excited by their excitement.
JL: I think it's adorable. All of it's great. So nice to know people care so much, and work so hard to show their appreciation of the show and the stories...Truly wonderful fans and people.

Good to see Otalia getting more attention. It is only the best written s/l in soaps in a LONG time.
