Tesreau Back On GUIDING LIGHT

Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Krista Tesreau, who joined GUIDING LIGHT as Mindy in 1983, is returning to the show on March 6.

Tesreau's Mindy was part of GL's memorabout "Four Musketeers" that year along with Phillip, Beth and Rick. Grant Aleksander returns to the LIGHT on Monday, Feb. 9. All four will be on screen in March, although Beth was recast with actress Beth Chamberlin in 1989 (replacing Emmy winner Judi Evans).

Tesreau wrote on her website a couple of years ago: "On the work front, I have returned to GL a few times over the past few years, mainly in reunion type shows. If you would like to see Mindy visit Springfield a bit more often, feel free to let the GUIDING LIGHT producers know." Looks like fans did and GL listened.

Soap fans will also remember Tesreau from her stints as Andie on SANTA BARBARA and Tina on ONE LIFE TO LIVE, but Minday has always been her signature role.

During her first GUIDING LIGHT run, Tesreau earned a Daytime Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Ingenue in a Drama Series" in 1987 (losing to ATWT's Martha Byrne). She was also nominated for "Outstanding Young Leading Actress" an the 1986 Soap Opera Digest Awards (losing to her new boss, former ANOTHER WORLD star and GL executive producer, Ellen Wheeler).
