CORONATION STREET Added to Amazon VoD

UK broadcaster ITV is making its long-running soap opera CORONATION STREET available via Amazon Video On Demand in the US. Amazon VoD, the streaming video service launched by the online retailer last September, announced that it will premiere 20 episodes of the drama every month, starting today.

Looking at Amazon.com, there are eight months worth of shows available for rental today. The episodes start in December 2007 and run through July 2008.

The 30 day rental price is only $0.50 per episode.

John Norman, senior vice president of international sales at ITV Global Entertainment in the US, said: "We'll be working closely with Amazon to effectively schedule new episodes, bringing US fans in line with the latest UK storylines by autumn 2009. The debut perfectly compliments our ITV catalogue on Amazon.com, which proudly showcases the very best in UK programming."

CORONATION STREET joins a selection of programming ITV Global Entertainment debuted on Amazon VoD in December. The show is available on demand in the UK on the ITV Player but the videos can not be watched in the US.
