Bianca & Reese Wedding On ET

ET was exclusively behind the scenes as ALL MY CHILDREN filmed daytime TV's first-ever lesbian wedding.

The ground-breaking union of Reese Williams (Tamara Braun) and Bianca Montgomery (Eden Riegel) -- the daughter of Erica Kane (Lucci) -- is a major event in the soap opera world -- and no expense was spared to gown the gorgeous brides.

Bianca wore a Grecian-inspired satin dress, designed by Monique Lhuillier, who is famous for her wedding gowns; while Reese wore a more form-fitting silk and satin design by Michael Gm.

"I was so honored when they called and asked me to be a part of this and do the first lesbian wedding in day time," Braun tells ET. "It means so much to me that we tell this story, and we tell an honest story with heart and integrity about two people who are in love and struggle with the same things that heterosexual couples struggle with."

The focus of the wedding, of course, was on the love between the two women, who exchanged heartfelt vows.

"I promise to try to make you laugh, because you have the most beautiful laugh," Reese tells Bianca as the two exchange their vows. "But most importantly, I promise to love you and our children for the rest of our lives."

As the mother of the bride, Susan Lucci made quite a fashion statement in a fuchsia gown and talks to ET about how proud she is that "All My Children" continues to break ground with its storylines.

The ALL MY CHILDREN wedding begins today and finished on Monday.

More coverage of the big event:
NEW YORK POST: Lesbian ALL MY CHILDREN Wedding
"Marriages on soap operas are a dime a dozen -- what with characters constantly disappearing, dying, divorcing and remarrying ex-significant other's half-brothers etc. -- but, ALL MY CHILDREN is attempting to do something different with what's being hailed by some as a landmark event: the first lesbian wedding on daytime TV."

SHEWIRED: Congrats AMC
"A big congratulations is in order to ALL MY CHILDREN for doing its best within the confines of soap opera etiquette to stick with a real girl-on-girl love story with a happy ending."
