News Round-up

The mother of drug death TV star Natasha Collins attacks Lily Allen's naive view of cocaine
Singer Lily Allen's controversial comments about the "sensationalized" risks of taking cocaine really could not have come at a worse time for Carmen Collins.

Last Saturday was the first anniversary of the death of her 31-year-old actress daughter Natasha, whose body was found in a scalding bath by her fiance Mark Speight following a night of celebration at the couple's North London home.

Carmen believes Natasha's cocaine use was directly linked to a road accident in 2001, when she was knocked down by a speeding car in London which left her with head and leg injuries.

Natasha had just been offered a role in HOLLYOAKS, but the accident damaged her memory, which effectively ended her acting career as she was unable to remember lines.

LYNN LICCARDO: 2008 Scoreboard
Liccardo adds up the plus and minuses from last year. Guess which one came out on top?

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS: "Underdogs"
"If you define the success or failure of a FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS episode by how high it raises the goosebumps on your arm, then 'Underdogs' was a tremendous success, the best episode of the season since Smash left in 'Hello Goodbye.' It felt right, and moving, and all those emotions we associate with the show when it's clicking."

Chelsea Handler is the talk of cable TV town with her E! network chat show
Imagine MEET THE PRESS mixed with a Comedy Central roast. On one recent visit to the show, Handler was carrying on a discussion of topics from DAYS OF OUR LIVES to the anniversary of the Bloody Mary with [former SOAP CENTER host] Tanika Ray, Andrew Daly and Jo Koy.

Lisa Rinna: "I Look Like a Freak"
Former DAYS actress Lisa Rinna got specific on what she overdid on her face in an interview with momlogic.com. Talking to momlogic to promote her upcoming reality show and her Golden Globes, Rinna said despite a love of Botox, she regrets overfilling her cheeks and that she still enjoys sex with husband Harry Hamlin.

"When you change your face, you don't look like yourself. Looking fresher is one thing. I look like a freak! I always said I wouldn't change my face, but I did it. I can't not be honest about it. I'd look like a fool. It's so obvious. I don't believe in lying. I used to feel like it was nobody's business. But when this happened, I realized I couldn't hide it."
