What happens when your soap opera character comes out of a coma? You go back to work.
David Andrew Macdonald, who played Oberon in Hartford Stage's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" this fall, was expected to join the cast for the theater's annual production of "A Christmas Carol."
But the actor's character in GUIDING LIGHT suddenly "came to," and so Macdonald is stepping out of the holiday show to return to his TV gig.
Macdonald originally joined the GL cast in 1999 as Edmund following a year on ANOTHER WORLD (he played Jordan/David until the show's cancellation).
In other GUIDING LIGHT casting news, Michelle Ray Smith (Ava) will return to the show for a visit at Christmas time.
Yay, we want Edmund back! =)
ReplyDeleteOh, how I will miss you, Edmund, and your delectably evil ways.
I was SO hoping you'd put an end to Cassie and Josh's days.
You were deliciously delightful and frightful to boot.
Your presence on the screen was always a hoot.
You delivered your lines with authority and panache.
Captivated the room without having to twirl a moustache.
Edmund, you sparkle and shine, and you light up the room.
The thought of you gone forever fills me with sadness and gloom.
You've been the Star of the show ever since your return.
Now this ache in my heart will forever burn.
Good luck in all of your future endeavors.
You will always be my ''Guiding Light'' treasure.
Yay, we got Edmund back! =)
