News Brief

INTERVIEW: B&B's John McCook
"It’s a cliché I suppose, and a staple, and it’s necessary. So for this man to be so dependent, and owe so much to Stephanie, and be adored and loved by Donna is interesting. This is not a pin-up or hot tamale. Donna really loves him. That’s what’s different about this. It starts out as this 'hootchie-mama' putting the makes on this older guy, but Eric really loves this gal."

Susan Lucci meets Captain America
TMZ reports: "Susan Lucci was blindsided by a wannabe superhero last night outside Madeo -- but we doubt this dude could take on Red Skull without the Captain's indestructible shield ... and losing a few pounds."

AS THE COOKIE CRUMBLES targets women
Each Thursday at 3 p.m. ET, viewers can tune in to AsTheCookieCrumbles.ca to watch the travails of the residents of Glamora County, who manage to eat cookies and gossip with equal aplomb. The eight-episode run ends Nov. 6. Kraft's move comes as women increasingly time-shift programs, zap commercials on their DVRs, and watch TV shows online.

"More and more women are online, and there is a lot going on in the world of blogs, and we knew that engaging them in a more intuitive way would connect with them online," said Farrah Bezner of Peek Freans.

"Our consumers tell us that they want a break in their day, whether it's three in the afternoon or some other time, and I think it complements that break to be watching something lighthearted and entertaining at the same time," she said.
