VIDEO: Former OLTL star Robert Krimmer has become a lawyer
One of the most difficult things about starting a new career later in life is managing your ego. That was the experience of former ONE LIFE TO LIVE actor Robert Krimmer. "To start over," he said, "the most important thing to have is a beginner's mind — to be able to say you don't know anything." It took the 54-year-old six years to reshape his life after reality shows began their assault on scripted television and work dried up. He now is a lawyer with Arnold, Bleuel, LaRochelle Mathews & Zirbel in Oxnard.
Getting To Know.... Kevin Schmidt (Noah, Y&R)
"Daytime's a really good platform for me to keep my acting polished, but it still allows me the time to do other projects that I've had in the works ... so it was the perfect fit for this time in my life."
TOM CASIELLO: Thank you, Brian Frons and ABC!
"But in spite of the nastiness spreading at other shows, ABC stepped up to the plate, and said that in spite of your specific issues, in spite of the behind the scenes nonsense, in spite of the falling ratings - WE CARE!"
HOLLYOAKS' Ricky Whittle: I grab Jamie Lomas' crotch while we're filming
HOLLYOAKS star Ricky Whittle loves to mess around when he and his co-stars are shooting the hit C4 TV series. The 27-year-old actor, who plays cop Calvin Valentine in the show, especially likes to wind up Jamie Lomas.
"When the camera is on him I’ll be holding his crotch,’ Ricky tells Now Online. "We did this one scene where he was supposed to whisper to me and he licked my ear instead – we’re always doing stuff like that."
BLOG UPDATE: DAYS' Rachel Melvin
"Calling someone skinny, can be just as offensive as calling someone fat. This is lost on most of society however, because being skinny is considered, or thought, to be attractive or sexy. Here's the secret truth I'm going to share with you: Some people think thick is sexier than thin, and yeah, some people think vise versa. You cannot contour your body to make other people happy, only yourself. And some of you may know, your body won't even contour for you. We are built the way we are built, and you have to find it within yourself to own the way you look, accept it, and be proud of it."
'Failed' Turkish soap opera runs amok on Arab TVs
Despite being branded "subversive" and "anti-Islamic" by one of Saudi Arabia's top Muslim clerics - and the show being dismissed as a flop among Turkish audiences - millions of viewers from Beirut to Algiers tune in up to three times a day to watch the Turkish-made, Arabic-dubbed soap opera, NOOR.

GH and B&B actor one of Janice Dickinson's models
Michael Anderson, a Flint native who has been modeling for 15 years, is on Oxygen's hit series THE JANICE DICKINSON MODELING AGENCY.
Modeling has helped him land more jobs, he said. "Since I've been in the business as long as I have, it's given me a rebirth," he said. "I'm getting a second wind."
It's also opened doors in television. He's won parts on daytime soaps such as GENERAL HOSPITAL (as a Drug Enforcement Administration agent) and THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL (as a character named Jeff).

DEGREASSI High style: TV show sets fall fashion trends for teens
Of all the marketing forces competing for your teenager's back-to-school clothing dollars, perhaps none is more powerful than the adolescent fashion statements made in the hallways of Degrassi High.
Steven Wright, a mustachioed middle-aged man dressed with effortless style in faded jeans and a designer Hawaiian shirt, is that show's costume designer. Late one afternoon on DEGRASSI's deserted set in Toronto, he tells me there's a simple reason teenagers emulate the clothing he puts on his young cast.
"Kids can relate because it's not like what you'd see on THE O.C. or BEVERLY HILLS, 90210," says Wright, whose stock of more than 800 outfits comes from such stores as Sirens, Gap and Urban Behavior. "I feel we have a responsibility to our young viewers. I know how influential the show is, and I take that very seriously with the clothes."
So what will young DEGRASSI stars such as Nina Dobrev and Lauren Collins be wearing this fall? Expect wide-legged jeans, Wright says, and - thanks to advance buzz on the sixth Harry Potter film - clothes that wouldn't be out of place at an English boarding school.
Ex-B&B star Mario Lopez to host MTV's TOP POP GROUP
The music competition will pit nine unsigned music groups in a battle for a $100,000 grand prize.
90210 merchandise on the way
Women's Wear Daily reports that CBS is rolling out a new line of "90210" products in advance of the Sept. 2nd launch: "Starting with apparel, cosmetics, bags and school supplies to be sold in the U.S., products will feature iconic graphics from both the new show and the classic one. Apparel, including T-shirts, fashion tops and fleece pieces for women, juniors and girls, will be produced under a licensing agreement with LF USA, the U.S. arm of Li & Fung Group. The firm will also produce sleepwear, loungewear and underwear."
I've always admired Bob Krimmer so much. It was his storyline with Ryan Phillippe in 1992 that first drew me to OLTL. That was some of the most compelling television I've ever seen. I'm glad he's doing well today, but I do miss him on daytime. Thanks for the update on him!
