Natalie Cassidy: Take me back, EASTENDERS!
Natalie Cassidy is desperate to return to EASTENDERS after a series of problems have left the star depressed and unhappy. The 25-year-old left Albert Square in February 2007 but her acting career has failed to take off.

Now that her on-screen half-sister Bianca, played by Patsy Palmer, has returned to the soap she’s hoping BBC bosses will bring back her character Sonia Jackson.

A source says: "When she left EastEnders, Natalie was telling friends how she admired Kathy Burke and would love to do the sort of films she made. But it hasn’t really worked out."

MVP's Sullivan to SMALLVILLE
Actress Charlotte Sullivan, who recently starred on the Canadian soap opera MVP, has been cast in the villainous role of Maxima, who will make her first appearance in the series during the fourth episode of season 8.

GL's MacDonald in "A Midsummer Night's Dream"
The first show out of the '08-09 theater gate in Connecticut is "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at Hartford Stage. Director Lisa Peterson sets the Shakespearean romantic comedy in 1958 Athens, Ohio — with the concept of the play being "a bride's fevered dream of her wedding day."

The cast includes David Andrew MacDonald (ex-Edmund, GUIDING LIGHT, ex-Jordan, ANOTHER WORLD) as Theseus/Oberon. The show runs Aug. 28 to Oct. 5.
