Seven months and 60 film festivals later, Greetings From The Shore (starring ONE LIFE TO LIVE's David Fumero), will debut in New Jersey and Pennsylvania theaters beginning Sept. 12.
Fumero, a native Cuban who grew up in Miami, spoke about reading the script about the Jersey shore.
“I thought, ‘what kind of beaches do they have in New Jersey?’” he said. “When we got there, I said, ‘wow…what beautiful sand, beautiful water.’”
“In a soap opera, we can do a 100-page script in a day,” he said. “Whereas we would do a four-page scene in eight hours for the movie.”
EASTENDERS star likes the dark side
Life may always be kicking EASTENDERS loser Billy Mitchell in the teeth, but the actor behind the character, Perry Fenwick, couldn't be happier. He recently spoke about his delight with his latest storyline, in which Billy gets mixed up with some gangsters alongside Jase (Stephen Lord).
"I'm lucky that my boss gives me some pretty great storylines," Fenwick told Hot TV magazine. "I like the fact that just when you think you've got Billy figured out, he'll do something that will totally surprise you."

McQueen sisters in HOLLYOAKS explosion
HOLLYOAKS producers are to kill of one of the show's babes in an explosive new storyline. The four McQueen girls, Tina, Carmel, Mercedes and Jacqui are held hostage in a church, which is the blown up by their evil kidnapper, and according to The Daily Star, one of the soap stunners will not survive. But it is not yet being revealed to viewers which actress - Leah Hackett, Gemma Merna, Jennifer Metcalfe or Claire Cooper - is being axed from the Channel 4 soap.
The effect is such that people are divided into two camps – anti-NOOR or pro-NOOR. On Facebook, the social meeting site, anti-NOOR groups are multiplying as fast as die-hard fans of the series. Members of the ‘I hate NOOR’ group denounce the series for being unrealistic and for having too much influence on the population.
Anti and pro-NOOR camps are opposed all over Arab society, even within couples. Fadi Makdissi, a Syrian pharmacist living in Paris, hates the series because “young and old adore it but it’s ridiculous.” While his wife loves watching the program, for Fadi it is just a passing trend that bored Arab society is latching on to, to fill some kind of gap.
Mary Montanari on Lucci and DANCING WITH THE STARS
"Hmm...I was just thinking if this competition ever came down to Erica Kane (Susan Lucci from ALL MY CHILDREN) and Phyllis Lindstrom (Cloris Leachman from the classic MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW) if they could dance in character it could become very interesting. Can you imagine Phyllis vs. Erica on a dance floor competing together?"
Globe and Mail reporter rips Meg Ryan
"[Former ATWT star] Meg Ryan is a fat suit: an illusion about dormant beauty and transformation that she seems incapable of effecting; a disguise within a disguise; a dead, molting swan."
