Evening News

EMMY REACTION: Former DAYS OF OUR LIVES star Judi Evans
"Thank you all so much! I'm stlll pretty speechless. This was sooo unexpected, yet still so wonderful. When my friend Debby O'Connor called to tell me I was nominated, I thought for sure it was a mistake. I feel so honored, yet I feel most honored by all of you. You have been there during the ups and downs, and alsays with a smile or wonderful words of encouragement. I can't tell you all how much I appreciate you and how much you mean to me, there are simply no words to decrbie how wonderful you all are."

INTERVIEW: Former ALL MY CHILDREN star Eva La Rue
"As much as I miss all my friends from ALL MY CHILDREN, and I do, I call over there and catch up with everyone over there all the time. This job [CSI: MIAMI] is so much easier than ALL MY CHILDREN. We would have sometimes 50 pages a day on the soap. 50 pages a day would be a normal day on he soap so by the time you get home, you start studying again for the next day. You're so brain-dead that by the end of the week you can barely remember your own name. While you're doing it you don't realize how hard it is because it's your day to day routine, but once you've stopped doing it, you think to yourself, how did I ever do this for as many years as I did? Oh my god, the amount of constant pressure and stress that you feel is mind numbing. It really is tough. It's also really rewarding. It's like a big family over there at the soap."

Kate Ritchie wins Gold and Silver Logies
Australia's TV Week held its annual Logie Awards last night. As widely expected, Kate Ritchie, a former star of Seven's soap opera HOME AND AWAY, won the Gold Logie for the second year in a row and won a Silver Logie as Most popular actress.

Teri Hatcher not ready to look old on screen
In the two-hour DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES season, the show will flash-forward five years into the future.

"She is having tricky conversations with writers and directors about how she should look five years from now," a source close to the dramedy tells OK!. "It seems as though they have hit a touchy subject for the ever youthful Miss Hatcher."
