SAG, majors agree to extend talks
In a sign of serious progress at the SAG negotiations, the guild and the majors have agreed to extend bargaining on a new feature-primetime deal until next Tuesday. The SAG talks had been scheduled to conclude Friday after three weeks of no major moves by either side but the guild's willingness to scale back one of its key demands led to both sides deciding at mid-morning to continue talks for another three sessions -- pushing back AFTRA's negotiations for a second time after AFTRA OK'd the delay.

Actors, producers to continue negotiations
SAG and the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers have agreed to continue their formal talks on the actors contract through Tuesday. In a joint statement, the union and producers said they "have agreed to extend their negotiations on a day-to-day basis, excluding Sunday, through Tuesday, May 6, at 5 p.m. We have no further comment."

EASTENDERS going HD
The next jewel in the BBC's crown to go HD is EastEnders, which will require a move to Pinewood and new sets, or else you'd see the sticky-back plastic holding the walls together.

Bryan Dattilo enjoyed being a dad without a job
Actor Bryan Dattilo left DAYS OF OUR LIVES almost four months ago, but now he is back and couldn't be more excited. However, after working for 13 straight years, just what did the 36-year-old do on his break? He enjoyed being a dad to son Gabriel 'Gabe' Byran, 8. I have a son, so to actually be an involved dad without a job to absorb all your time was a great thing.

BLOG: DAYS Alison Sweeney
"Wednesday came way too early. Ha. My call time was 5:45am. Bry and I were on a nyc morning show, and then headed to The View for rehearsals. We don’t often get the chance to hang out with actors from other soaps these days, so this was a fun morning. Rebecca is so sweet, as always, Cameron, cute and funny. Farah was there with her co-star, John-Paul. Marcy was so cute too. She and Van were presenting first, right before us, so we were whispering backstage last minute warnings – don’t trip on the stairs, don’t walk to fast… you know, helpful stuff! :)"

DePaiva to appear on Judd's new talk show
Naomi Judd, who has been raising awareness for Hepatitis C since her diagnosis in 1991 (she has been in remission), is now adding "talk show host" to her lists of talents with NAOMI'S NEW MORNING. Described as a cross between OPRAH and THE VIEW, the series features interview segments of authors and celebrities such as One Life To Live's Kassie DePaiva and medium John Edward; another segment, "Naomi's Circle of Friends", features people of different religions.
