FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS back for season 3
The acclaimed football-and-family drama will return on NBC for a third year after the 13 new episodes have aired on satellite-television provider DirecTV, in an unusual deal designed to spread production costs while rekindling a series whose audience until now has been as small as it is fervent. The series will unfold weekly for DirecTV subscribers beginning Oct. 1. Then, early in 2009, it will be seen on NBC, which made the announcement Wednesday. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES mulls fast-forwarding 5 years into the future
When ABC's DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES resumes its season on April 13, several months will have passed for the residents of Wisteria Lane. "Several months," though, is a drop in the bucket compared to the temporal shift HOUSEWIVES viewers might be subject to next. There is a plan on the drawing board to fast-forward the show five years into the future in the closing moments of the season finale — and continue on from there for the duration of the series.

On March 15, seven past and present actors from DAYS OF OUR LIVES held two events to benefit Childhood Cancer Lifeline in Hartford, CT. Fans were treated to a lively Q&A and autograph session during the afternoon, and a cocktail reception in the evening, where the fans got to mingle with the actors. Those present included Martha Madison, Judi Evans, Nadia Bjorlin, Matthew Ashford, Brandon Beemer, Jay Kenneth Johnson and James Scott.
