News Brief

BBC News: AS THE WORLD TURNS Luke and Noah have inspired a fan campaign in support of their storyline and asking for kisses between the duo. An Associated Press article about the campaign has been published in more than 150 newspapers across the world since yesterday. Campaigning fans want to be clear that they applaud the show for telling this story and fully support it continuing. There are groups like the American Family Association who are campaigning against it.

Knoxville News Sentinel: CBS's GUIDING LIGHT is an old dog with one more new trick up its sleeve. This latest - and, for daytime, radical - change is overhauling its look in fundamental ways. This isn't just getting rid of the cheesy intros with overly dramatic music and quick face shots of the characters. The production itself fronts a whole new look, incorporating a real-life town, exteriors and all, into its every scene. Viewers saw these changes Friday. The change is permanent and will continue today.

This is Nottingham: David Gest is apparently keen to land a part in Channel 4 soap HOLLYOAKS. The US producer is a huge fan of the Chester-based programme and told Hollyoaks actress Sarah Jane Buckley he'd love to appear in it at some point.

Digital Spy: Greg Rusedski has become the latest celebrity to be voted off DANCING ON ICE. The tennis star and partner Kristina Lenko lost out to CORONATION STREET actress Zaraah Abrahams in the skate-off, despite scoring their highest marks yet. HOLLYOAKS star Chris Fountain topped the leader board with 27 points. He will battle it out with Gates, Abrahams and Shaw in the semi-final of the ITV1 show next week.

Serial Drama: DAYS OF OUR LIVES Week in Review: The Sniffle Edition.

Daily Buzz: The show featured a story about the Luke and Noah controversy today. On Tuesday, "friends from Soap Opera Digest are giving us the dish on soap’s biggest make-ups and break-ups."

Soap Opera Network: VIDEO: February editing of SON Insider.

PGP Blog: Guest columnist Sam Ford writes: "I am the project manager of a research group called the Convergence Culture Consortium at MIT. This semester, I'm teaching a course on the history and current state of the American soap opera here at MIT's Program in Comparative Media Studies. We have a small group of students for this elective class, including not just MIT students but a cross-enrolled student from neighboring Harvard University, who are spending the semester immersing themselves in the world of Oakdale, Illinois."
