Evening News

Buzzworthy Radio: AUDIO: Interview with GENERAL HOSPITAL star Kelly Monaco.

Entertainment Tonight: Following up her recurring role on MEN IN TREES, Justine Bateman returns to ABC for a multi-episode arc on DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES. The former FAMILY TIES star will play a hip artist living with Gabby (Eva Longoria Parker) and Carlos (Richardo Chavira). Her first airdate is TBD. New episodes of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES begin airing on Sunday, April 14 at 9 p.m.

Chipley Bugle: Writer Jane Atkins addressed the Chipola College Honors seminar on March 7. Atkins (center), a native of Blountstown, is pictured with her cousins Karla Atkins (left) and Kate Atkins. Atkins has written for SANTA BARBARA, GUIDING LIGHT, GENERAL HOSPITAL, SUNSET BEACH and DAYS OF OUR LIVES.

AfterElton: Boy, if there was ever proof that there was a double-standard for how gay characters are treated on television, the handling of Luke and Noah on AS THE WORLD TURNS is it. Yes, we're talking primetime versus daytime, and, yes, I frequently defend the show, but the fact that CBS/Procter & Gamble has refused to show Nuke kissing for six months proves that putting gay characters on television can still be plenty controversial.

Channel 4 News: HOLLYOAKS' Chris Fountain has played down his 'favourite' status ahead of DANCING ON ICE's final on Sunday. "I think I've tried some really difficult stuff and I don't feel like I've pushed myself less than anybody else. I don't feel like I've sat back on my experience and gone, 'I can do an easy routine and just sail my way through'," said Fountain.

Soap Opera Weekly: Nathaniel Marston (ex-Michael, ONE LIFE TO LIVE) was asked not to come to the recent Gabriel Project's Daytime at Nitetime event, held last Saturday night. "There were three or four actors who would be really uncomfortable if I was there."

Atlanta Journal-Constitution: Luke and Noah kiss symbolizes gay evolution.

Willamette Week,: Where Are They Now: Former AS THE WORLD TURNS child actor Richard Thomas (ex-Tom) is currently starring in Scott Ellis' production of Twelve Angry Men. To give you some idea of his role—the lead—Juror #8 begins as a lone dissenting voice, who claims to vote "not guilty" only because he doesn’t believe in executing someone without a discussion. But somehow, over the course of the play’s one act, he reasons, baits, and cajoles his comrades into a unanimous "not guilty" verdict. To sell a character like that, you need to fly under the radar. You need to make your points obliquely and refuse the limelight, all the while appearing to be just another guy, nonthreateningly macho and coolly nonchalant. No self-righteous whiner is ever going to convince a roomful of his peers to change their minds, but that’s exactly how Richard Thomas plays it. He delivers his lines with the maudlin quaver of a made-for-TV martyr, and it falls flat.

MyParkMag: EASTENDERS actress Kara Tointon is rumoured to be romancing former BIG BROTHER star Ziggy Lichman. The 24-year-old actress - who plays Dawn Swann in the BBC soap - left the Children's Champion Awards at London's Renaissance Chancery Court hotel with 27-year-old Ziggy on Wednesday night.

NBC: VIDEO: DAYS OF OUR LIVES star Mary Beth Evans appearance on THE TODAY SHOW on Thursday morning.
