Apparently the news about Scott Bryce being fired is true. This is bad news for AS THE WORLD TURNS. I recently named Bryce the best actor on soaps. And he most certainly was the best actor in ATWT's awful quad storyline.
Updating a previous casting spoiler, Eric William Morris' first day as Casey's friend, Matt, will be February 11th. Morris made his Broadway debut in CORAM BOY and later starred in ROLLER DERBY. His regional credits include THE RINK at The Cape Playhouse, THE DUEL at the New Jersey Repertory Theatre, and MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING at the Illustrious Theatre Company. For television he has been seen on LAW AND ORDER and appeared in the Fox pilot NEW AMSTERDAM. Eric is a graduate of the Circle in the Square Theatre School.
We are writing, calling and faxing in support of Scott Bryce and the character he originated and perfected: Craig Montgomery.
ReplyDeleteDespite being written as a villain who has committed heinous acts, Scott brings a vulnerability and a humanity to the character making him most beloved for 25 years.
He was beginning to generate genuine excitement for ATWT in 2008 and his firing is indicative of the lack of respect and understanding the powers that be at ATWT have for its cast, its fans and the show's history.
With such lack of insight and terrible writing and decision making, ATWT is bound to drop dramatically in the ratings.
They've already lost longtime viewers over the mere suggestion that such a talented, Emmy-worthy actor was unceremoniously fired when his work was well-deserving of accolades.
Scott Deserves An Emmy, Not A Pink Slip.
