Exclusive Interview with Kayla Simon of S&S

Originally published August 26, 2004.

Kayla Simon hails from San Jose, California. She is passionate about many things including her husband (SCRIPTS & SCRUPLES castmate Kevin P. Simon). We spoke with her on her role as Raven Malone.

We Love Soaps: What has been your favorite Raven Malone scene so far on SCRIPTS & SCRUPLES?
Kayla Simon: Definitely Episode 63, when Raven confronted Mack about his affair with Alexandra. At first, it wasn't clear if she was actually going to tell him that she knew the truth, but once she spoke the words the anger and pain just flowed. I was very proud of the work that Roger and I did on that episode!

WLS: What do you have in common with Raven?
KS: Raven and I are both people who love with all of our hearts, sometimes to the point of near insanity. We try to see the good in others, and hope that things work out for the best for everyone we care about. Well, we did have that in common, until Marty was kidnapped and Raven lost faith in the world!

WLS: Are there any characters you'd like to see Raven interact with more?
KS: I'd like to see Raven sit down with Charlie Dean and talk about Adriana and the teenage relationship between Matt and Blake. I'm sure it would be one enlightening conversation!

WLS: What do you like do you in your free time?
KS: I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, traveling, and surfing the Web.

WLS: Have you seen any good movies lately?
KS: 'The Bourne Supremacy' was excellent!

WLS: What kind of music do you like?
KS: Two words-Duran Duran! I have been following the band for more than 20 years, and it makes me so happy to see them garner new fans with the reunion of the "Fab Five". I also am very much into Josh Groban, modern rock bands of the 80s (i.e. R.E.M., Depeche Mode, The Smiths, and The Cure), Toad the Wet Sprocket, Jimmy Buffett, and the men of "New Country" (Kenny Chesney, Garth Brooks, etc.)
