CosmoGirl magazine and Raw Digital are partnering on an online soap opera series set in a suburban Michigan high school.
Casting for the series will take place this fall. One role will be left open for a CosmoGirl reader to win. The series will launch in Spring 2008, reports MediaBuyerPlanner.
The three- to four-minute webisodes will air three times a week for five weeks on cosmogirl.com. It will follow the lives and adventures of Jaime and Anna, a pair of best friends.
Web soap opera series have been an online hit since Lonelygirl15 hit the airwaves. Before Lonelygirl's untimely death, her creators partnered with Bebo to create Kate Modern for a UK-based audience.
This week, Bebo and Sony announced another soap opera called Sofia's Diary that sports a Web 2.0 twist. And Blinkx is airing its own soap, called Prom Queen, an Eisner-backed production.
