As a former pro football player, Mark Schlereth is used to television. Just not this kind.
Sure, the former Denver Broncos offensive lineman has done some TV interviews, and worked as a TV sports analyst on ESPN.
"Guiding Light" is something else.
The Denver-based sportscaster is set to appear on the CBS soap opera June 14th.
Schlereth admits he was uncomfortable and nervous during taping, but says he's never been one to let his fears and anxieties stop him from doing things.
As he awaits his soap debut, Schlereth says the whole experience was a bit surreal - but also says he feels incredibly thankful and blessed.
Schlereth will portray the character of "Rock Hoover" on the daytime drama.
It's a recurring role, so Schlereth will be back.
Schlereth played with the Broncos from 1995 to 2000, and was a member of the Super Bowl XXXII and Super Bowl XXXIII championship teams.
