Hollyoaks actor James Sutton has admitted playing gay student John-Paul McQueen is a 'challenge' - but says he loves the part. The 23-year-old said when he got the part he didn't realise he would have to kiss guys when his character found a boyfriend, reports the Daily Star.
"I think I was a bit naive. I knew he was gay but for some reason I didn't really think about what it would be like when he gets a boyfriend," James says.
"It is really challenging as a straight guy to snog blokes all day - but that is what I have to do.
"I go home and snog my girlfriend every day, too - but my mates still rip it out of me all the time!"
James, who has been nominated for Sexiest Male, Best Actor and Best Newcomer at this year's British Soap Awards, joined Hollyoaks last September.
