DIRECTV Unsure On Passions In HDTV

DIRECTV says it hasn't decided if it will air the daytime drama Passions in High-Definition.

The satcaster announced today that it will exclusively carry the NBC soap opera after it ends its network run in September.

Under a new agreement with NBC Universal, DIRECTV will air four new episodes Monday through Thursday on channel 101.

But DIRECTV spokesman Robert Mercer said it's unclear if the new episodes will air in high-def.

"We are evaluating (HD) as we move forward in bringing Passions to DIRECTV," Mercer told TVPredictions.com.
