Budig Turns Down All My Children!

Rebecca Budig could have gone home again - but didn't want to.

The Fort Mitchell native says "All My Children" producers asked her about resuming her role as Greenlee Smythe du Pres Lavery before they hired Sabine Singh.

Budig left New York and "AMC" after six seasons and moved on to Hollywood in November 2005.

"I wasn't ready to go back," says Budig, 33, a 1991 School for Creative and Performing Arts graduate. "A part of me was sad, as I feel attached to (Greenlee) obviously, but I know the show must go on."

So far, it looks like a smart career move. Budig could be a Fox prime-time TV star this fall. She plays a veterinarian on "The Beast," a comedy pilot with Steve Howey ("Reba"), Ian Gomez ("Drew Carey") and Georgia Engel ("Coach"). Fox announces its fall lineup the week of May 14.

"It's very funny," says Budig, who studied zoology at Miami University. "I'm very, very excited."
