Move over "All My Children." The next big names in the soap opera world seem to be coming from NYU.
In a contest for SOAPnet, a TV channel and website that airs same-day episodes of popular daytime soap operas like "Days of our Lives" and "One Life to Live," three NYU students have made it to the finals. Co-directors Gladys Silvera and Emma Mankey Hidem, a Tisch junior and senior respectively, have made it one step closer to winning the contest with their soap "All the Bold and Beautiful Days of Our One Life to Live," along with Tisch senior Tiffany Jackman, who also made it to the finals with "Love Pentagons."
Winners of this contest will win $20,000 to create and direct their own soap and will also win a trip to Los Angeles to meet with hotshot Hollywood executives to pitch their ideas. The winner's soap will then be aired on SOAPnet's website.
