1975: Mary and Jack shared their first kiss on Ryan's Hope.
1979: The identity of Edge of Night's "Tobias" was revealed.
1979: Guiding Light's Alan bonded with hope on a deserted island.
1995: One Life to Live's Max told hospitalized Luna to hold on.

On this date in...

1967: On Another World, Pat Randolph (Beverly Penberthy) introduced Rachel Davis (Robin Strasser) to her Aunt Liz Matthews (Audra Lindley).

1975: On Ryan's Hope, Mary Ryan (Kate Mulgrew) declined when Bob Reid (Earl Hindman) asked her out, but accepted an invitation from Jack Fenelli (Michael Levin) to join him for coffee. Later, Jack and Mary shared their first kiss.



1979: On Guiding Light, Hope Bauer (Elvera Roussel) told Alan Spaulding (Christopher Bernau) that he had said some weird things while he was feverish and out of it, including about Roger Thorpe.

1979: On The Edge of Night, Steve Guthrie (Denny Albee) shot "Tobias" which saved Paige Madison (Margaret) in the nick of time. Tobias turned out to be Jed (Philip Kraus) in disguise.



1984: On Santa Barbara, Joe Perkins (Dane Witherspoon) called Kelly Capwell (Robin Wright) and asked her to meet him. Peter Flint (Stephen Meadows) asked Kelly's brother, Mason (Lane Davies), to call the cops on an armed Joe. Elsewhere, Lionel Lockridge (Nicolas Coster) visited Sophia Capwell's grave.



1984: On Guiding Light, H.B. Lewis (Larry Gates) told his son, Josh (Robert Newman), that he would never trust him again after Josh pulled "a sneaky move" with H.B.'s wife, Reva Shayne Lewis (Kim Zimmer). The staff at Cedars gave Bert Bauer (Charita Bauer) a surprise party when she was released from the hospital nearly three months after her leg was amputated.



1985: On Ryan's Hope, the judge gave D.J. LaSalle (Christian Slater) a suspended sentence.

1985: On Capitol, Wally McCandless (Bill Beyers) told Sam Clegg (Richard Egan) that he had to quit his job at the casino.



1995: On All My Children, Arlene Vaughan (Olivia Birkelund) had sex with her daughter Hayley's fiance, Alec McIntyre (Grant Aleksander).



1995: On One Life to Live, at the hospital Max Holden (James DePaiva) begged his hospitalized wife, Luna (Susan Batten), to hold on after she had been shot in Angel Square.



1997: Indian soap opera Amanat premiered on Zee TV.   The show, which was one of the most popular of its time, ran until October 2, 2002.

1998: On Guiding Light, Ben Warren (Hunt Block) began his offensive to prove that he had not raped Blake Marler (Elizabeth Keifer) who was supposedly paralyzed.

2005: HBO aired the series finale of Alan Ball's primetime serial Six Feet Under.



2007: On Passions, Sheridan Crane (McKenzie Westmore) was shocked when she opened her cottage door, expecting Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald, and found Vincent Clarkson (Phillip Jeanmarie).



2010: Actress Nancy Dolman, who played Annie Selig in ABC's primetime comedy Soap, died at age 57.
