On this date in...

1950: On radio soap opera The Guiding Light, Ted White (James Monk) told his wife, Meta (Jone Allison), he didn't think she made an effort to understand his son, Chuckie. You can read the entire script for the episode here.

1964: On Another World, Alice Matthews (Jacqueline Courtney) decided to attend the Institute of Art.

1968: On The Doctors, Ed Stark's (Conrad Roberts) parents, Paul (P. Jay Sidney) and Hope (Clarice Taylor), told him that he had become a stranger to them.

1979: On Ryan's Hope, Delia Reid Ryan (Randall Edwards) threatened to tell her former mother-in-law, Maeve, the truth about her loan to save the bar if Maeve's husband, Johnny (Bernard Barrow), didn't fire Kevin MacGuinness (Malachy McCourt).



1980: On The Young and the Restless, Leslie Brooks (Victoria Mallory) told her sister, Lorie (Jaime Lyn Bauer), she knew there was something that everyone was keeping from her, and asked Lorie to help her unlock the past.



1981: On General Hospital, Laura Baldwin (Genie Francis) told Rick (Chris Robinson) and Lesley Webber (Denise Alexander) that Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) was the only man for her. Meanwhile, Luke asked Tony Cassadine (Andre Landzaat) to tell him the story of the Ice Princess.



1981: Nancy Frangione debuted as Cecile DePoulignac on Another World, replacing Susan Keith in the role.



1981: On Texas, Ginny Marshall (Barbara Rucker) blamed Barrett (Stephen D. Newman) for all the problems in their marriage.

1984: On Days of our Lives, Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) was arrested for kidnapping Hope Williams (Kristian Alfonso).

1989: On Santa Barbara, Julia (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Mason (Lane Davies) gave speeches at their wedding reception. Megan Richardson (Meg Bennett) caught the bouquet.



1991: On As the World Turns, Ellen (Patricia Bruder) learned her husband, Dr. David Stewart, had died after suffering a heart attack.



1995: Daytime soap opera producer/writer Allen M. Potter died at age 75. Potter was executive producer and head writer for Guiding Light; producer for As the World Turns, Our Private World and The Doctors; and executive producer of Another World.

1996: On All My Children, Julia Santos (Sydney Penny) was visited by her "Fairy Godmother" (Lynne Thigpen).



1998: Stephanie Cameron aired for the final time as Jennifer Horton in Days of our Lives.

2002: On Guiding Light, Josh Lewis (Robert Newman) serenaded Reva (Kim Zimmer) the night before their wedding, with Billy, Richard and Buzz as his background singers on "The Way You Do the Things You Do."



2005: All My Children co-stars Alexa Havins and Justin Bruening were married.

2009: On The Bold and the Beautiful, Ridge Forrester (Ronn Moss) shocked Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) when he revealed they were not really married.
