On this date in...

1964: On Another World, Pat (Susan Trustman) begged Alice (Jacqueline Courtney) to dip into her savings account to loan her enough money to buy a new bathing suit.

1967: On Days of our Lives, Susan (Denise Alexander) decided to give David (Clive Clerk) a divorce.

1975: At the 2nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, winners included The Young and the Restless (Drama Series, Directing), Another World (Writing), Macdonald Carey and Susan Flannery.



1978: Doug Davidson taped his first episode (#1311) as Paul William on The Young and the Restless (aired May 23, 1978).



1980: On The Edge of Night, Logan told Geraldine (Lois Kibbee) and Nicole that Raven abducted Jamey.



1984: Original The Young and the Restless star Tom Hallick made his debut as Maxwell Hathaway on Days of our Lives.

1985: On General Hospital, Anna (Finola Hughes) remembered her past with Robert (Tristan Rogers).



1985: On the season finale of Dynasty, the royal wedding of Amanda and Michael took place. This episode is commonly referred to as the "Moldavian Massacre," with the wedding interrupted by terrorists staging a military coup of Moldavia.



1987: On Days of our Lives, Kim (Patsy Pease) and Shane's (Charles Shaughnessy) son, Andrew Shawn Brady, was baptized.



1987: Susan Marie Snyder made her first appearance as Laken Lockridge on Santa Barbara.

1989: On Santa Barbara, Cruz (A Martinez) and Eden (Marcy Walker) spent the night together in Paris, and danced at the Eiffel Tower.



1992: On Santa Barbara, Jodie (Kim Zimmer) received mysterious phone calls but refused to take them seriously until realized it was Ramon.

1996: Actor Barton Heyman, whose soap roles included Fred Ewing on Another World and Ted Maille in Ryan's Hope, died at age 59.

1998: At the 25th Daytime Emmys, Susan Lucci lost for the 18th consecutive time (she would finally win in 1999). Winners included All My Children (Drama Series, Writing), Cynthia Watros (Guiding Light), Eric Braeden (The Young and the Restless), Julia Barr (All My Children ), Steve Burton (General Hospital), Sarah Brown (General Hospital) and Jonathan Jackson (General Hospital).





2007: The CW aired the final episode of Gilmore Girls.

2012: On Days of our Lives, Will (Chandler Massey) told his parents, Sami (Alison Sweeney) and Lucas (Bryan Datillo), he was gay.
