On this date in...

1957: On The Edge of Night, Bebe Spode (Renne Jarrett) came back home and told her father, Martin Spode (Eric Dressler), how much she loved him.

1965: On Peyton Place, Betty Anderson (Barbara Parkins) met Martin Peyton (George Macready).



1968: On The Doctors, Phillip Townsend III (Ralph Purdum) continued to hold Liz Wilson captive.

1971: On The Doctors, while performing surgery on Carolee Simpson (Carolee Campbell), Dr. Albert Steiner (David Spielberg) reported that she would not survive unless her bleeding was controlled.



1972: On Another World, Dennis (Mike Hammett) and his live-in nurse Alice (Jacqueline Courtney), using the alias Alice Talbot, talked about how much they missed their mothers as she sat by his bed while he fell asleep.

1982: On The Doctors, Jean-Marc Gauthier (Jean LeClerc) and Althea Davis (Elizabeth Hubbard) continued to get acquainted. They ran into Maggie Powers (Lydia Bruce), who was moving toward a reconciliation with her husband, Matt Powers (James Pritchett). Meanwhile, Mike Powers (Stephen Burleigh) and Kit McCormick (Hillary Bailey-Smith) were stranded during a blizzard.

1982: On Capitol, Kelly Harper (Jane Daly) felt she was about to go under thanks to Danny Donato (Victor Brandt) and Frank Burgess (Duncan Gamble).



1984: On Another World, Rachel Cory (Victoria Wyndham) and Blaine Ewing Cory (Laura Malone) rescued Blaine's husband, Sandy (Christopher Rich), who had been poisoned by a vengeful Carl Hutchins (Charles Keating). Later, Sandy reunited with his father, Mac Cory (Douglass Watson).



1985: On Guiding Light, the ghost of Lujack Luvonaczek (Vincent Irizarry) gave Beth Raines (Judi Evans) a pep talk.



1991: Camilla Moore debuted on General Hospital as the temporary Anna Scorpio recast.

1993: On Days of our Lives, Roman Brady (Wayne Northrop) held a stuffed animal and sang "Rock-a-bye Baby" while thinking about the missing Belle, who had been taken by Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney).

1993: On General Hospital, two men kidnapped Scott Baldwin and baby Serena outside the brownstone.

1995: On One Life to Live, Blair Cramer Manning (Kassie DePaiva) called Marty Saybrooke (Susan Haskell) a murderer.



1996: On All My Children, Adam Chandler (David Canary) married Liza Colby (Marcy Walker). Adam was hoping Brooke English would interrupt the wedding, and Liza was supposed to stop it herself if Brooke didn't.

1999: On Sunset Beach, D.A. Patricia Steele (Susan Seaforth Hayes) was convinced Gabi Martinez (Priscilla Garita) and Antonio Torres (Nick Kiriazis) had panicked when Antonio's brother, Ricardo (Hank Cheyne), surprised them at the cabin so they killed him. She gave them Michael Bourne's report of what happened to read, convinced they would confess after seeing the evidence against them. Instead, it made Antonio realize that Ricardo had set them up.



2001: Alicia Leigh Willis debuted as Courtney Matthews on General Hospital,

2002: Actor Antony Ponzini died at age 69. His daytime roles included Vince Wolek in One Life to Live's original cast, Danny Fargo on Another World, Tony Wyatt on The Edge of Night, Tony Perelli on General Hospital, Victor Borelli on All My Children and Captain Corelli on Generations.

2006: On All My Children, a joint funeral was held for Simone Torres and Erin Lavery. It was also Julia Barr's last appearance as Brooke English after a 30 year run, until her return in 2010.

2007: Kristina Wagner returned to General Hospital as Felicia Jones, who found out about Georgie's murder from her other daughter, Maxie (Kirsten Storms). Meanwhile, Mike Corbin (Ron Hale) and Lulu Spencer (Julie Marie Berman) told Dillon Quartermaine (Scott Clifton) what happened to Georgie.

Jacqueline Courtney
2010: Actress Jacqueline Courtney died at age 64. She was best known for her role as beloved heroine Alice Matthews in Another World from 1964 to 1975, returning in 1984-1985 and visiting in 1989. Her other soap roles included Pat Ashley in One Life to Live (where she re-teamed with former AW co-star George Reinholt), Diane Winston in Loving and Ann Lee in Our Five Daughters. She also appeared in The Edge of Night and The Doctors.
