1974: CBS aired the final episode of The Secret Storm.
1978: UK serial Grange Hill premiered. 1977: Ryan's Hope's Frank
was devastated over Jill. 1995: Days' Sami and Lucas had sex.

On this date in...

1955: On Love of Life, Ben (David Lewis, who later won a Daytime Emmy Award for his portrayal of Edward Quartermaine on General Hospital) gave Judith (Virginia Robinson) a warning, and Paul (Richard Coogan) received pressure to marry Judith from her father.



1974: After a 20 year run, the final episode of The Secret Storm aired on CBS.

1977: On Ryan's Hope, after an emotional confrontation, Jill (Nancy Addison) returned Frank's ring as the two broke up. Needing to release some anxiety, Frank ran through the streets of New York until he was exhausted and collapsed on the steps of St. Patrick's church.



1977: Genie Francis debuted as Laura Vining (later known as Laura Webber Baldwin Spencer) on General Hospital.

1978: BBC Children's Television serial drama, Grange Hill, debuted. It would become one of the longest-running programs on British television when it ended its run 30 years later in 2008. It was created by Phil Redmond, who went on to create Brookside and Hollyoaks for Channel 4.

1979: On Another World, Willis (Leon Russom) asked Angie (Maeve Kinkead) to get Rose (Kathleen Widdoes) off his back.

1980: Eric Braeden debuted as Victor Newman on The Young and the Restless.

1982: On General Hospital, Luke (Anthony Geary) poured his heart out at Ruby's bedside.



1988: On All My Children, Erica Kane gave birth to a daughter, Bianca Montgomery.



1995: On Days of our Lives, Sami (Alison Sweeney) and Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) made love in the Titan photo lab. Austin (Patrick Muldoon) walked in on them and thought Sami was Carrie.



2008: Tamara Braun debuted as Ava Vitali in Days of our Lives.

2010: Actor David Froman died at age 71. He was popular on The Edge of Night in the roles of Gunther and Bruno.

2011: Sarah Brown aired for the final time as Aggie on The Bold and the Beautiful.
