  1. That Edge episode from December 1971 began the final appearance of Lester Rawlins as Orin Hillyer and within months introduced the world to the delicious Elly Jo Jamison played by Dorothy Lyman (later known as Opal Gardiner on All My Children). Master head writer Henry Slesar with this elaborate Elly Jo tries to kill both Orin and daughter Liz story the show's only Emmy win as Best Daytime Drama in 1973. It was truly edge of your seat kind of story the entire time.
