The 10th Annual Valley Preferred Spirit of Courage Award Celebration was held Tuesday, October 6 at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, Pa. The event featured Special Guest Speaker Randolph Mantooth, motivational speaker and star of the hit TV medical drama Emergency!, and veteran of several daytime soap operas including Loving, One Life to Live, General Hospital and As the World Turns.

Proceeds from this program benefit the Burn Prevention Network and Lehigh Valley Health Network's Regional Burn Center. Valley Preferred is a sponsor of the program to help raise public awareness regarding burn safety and prevention.

In August, Mantooth revealed that he had been battling cancer.

"Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with cancer, and I decided to share that news with only a small circle of family and friends, who respected and honored my request for privacy, and were there to help every step of the way," explained Randolph Mantooth, who turned 70 on September 19.
