Vivica A. Fox Joins 'Empire' as Cookie's Sister

Former daytime soap star Vivica A. Fox will be appearing on season 2 of the Empire as the oldest sister of Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson), according to EW.com. Fox’s character comes to Empire in search of her younger sis for reasons unknown.

Viewers have already met Cookie’s sister Carol (Tasha Smith) but executive producer Ilene Chaiken tells EW, “Cookie’s other family members are troublesome to say the least.”

Fox’s character debuts in episode 8 of the upcoming second season, premiering September 23 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Fox's soap roles include Carmen Silva on Days of our Lives, Stephanie Simmons on The Young and the Restless and Maya Reubens on Generations. Fox's Maya was involved in one of the greatest catfights in TV history when she battled Jonelle Allen's Doreen. Watch below:
